Prints can be tricky if you are not well practiced at wearing them.

As well, different color combinations and patterns can look great with some outfits, and totally awful with others.

It is important that you work out what is best for your style and body type, and learn how to combine colors, scale and patterns so that you look wonderful each time you step out of the door.

Wearing Two Prints Together

If you want to wear two different prints together you need to get it right.

If you don’t you are going to look messy and rather than attract an onlooker’s gaze, people will be turning away because their brains are becoming confused with all those mixed messages.

If you want to combine two prints make sure they are similar colors, if not the same.

You may even choose to wear prints that have only two colors: a background and the motif color. This will help the two garments blend well.

Combing and Scaling Patterns

If you wear a large pattern print all over it may very well consume you; you’ll disappear in a kaleidoscope of colors.

If you wear a small pattern print, the pattern may just vanish in a blur, and the motifs will become lost.

The best approach is to mix the scale or size of your patterns.

This will depend on your body style, and what you hope to achieve.

Remember to mix your prints and use motifs as statements rather than background textures.
