That’s understandable. Gently loved or new clothing are sold less than the retail price.

You may have paid $200 for a dress, but no one is going to pay that if it has been worn a few times.

So, how do you chose the right price for your fashion items and clothes?

Don’t Forget The Commission

Like all fashion websites, Fashmates charges a commission which is taken off the price of the garment or fashion item.

Unlike other fashion websites, our commission is only 16.9%* which you can take in cash or use as reward points to purchase wonderful fashion items for yourself. Some similar websites charge over 20%

Once you take into consideration the commission markup you’ll need to add that to your price.

Price drops

If your item is not selling you may want to drop the price.

There are many ways to do this on Fashmates which we will cover in other blog posts, but consider what discount you want to apply when you are marking your item.

You may wish to drop an item by 10%, 15% or 20% if it doesn’t sell. However, it is best to factor a 10% discount into your starting price.
