Over 40 and in a Fashion Rut? Here are 3 Tips to Creating Your Signature Look
As we age our bodies change. As well, we go through so many changes to our lifestyles. Our kids are getting ready to leave home, our careers are on the move and our parents are getting older.
There is a lot on many women’s plates, and yet we still want to look our best, and we deserve no less either.
If you are struggling with a Style Dilemma and you need to find your fashion signature to lessen your stress and worries here are 3 great tips to keep you looking great:
1. Don’t copy every new fashion trend
While we all want to look great and feel young, you won’t be doing yourself any favors wearing what younger women are wearing.
Filling your closet with new and trendy clothes will only make you look older.

2. Select a Color Palette that suits you
Avoid glaring and shades which sap the color out of your face.
And, certainly don’t wear colors just because they are the latest fashion. Older women who spend a lot of time in the spotlight know what colors best suit them – see Hilary Clinton as an example.
3. Avoid clothes which are too baggy
Baggy clothes aren’t your best friend as you get older.
Their formless curves are okay on thin, tall and younger women, but they can make older women look dowdy.
Instead, wear clothes which show off your shape’s natural curves. A-line dresses and skirts combined with jackets which end at your hips, look great and will suit most situations.
