The color gurus at Pantone have just announced the color for 2018, and fashion designers and creative souls are excited.
It is Ultra Violet!
The color was chosen because it evokes originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking, according to a spokesperson for Pantone.
Making the Ultra Violet color is not easy. The color is formed by combining the complex shades of red and blue. From these opposing colors, think back to your school art classes, something new and quite fabulous is created.

Perhaps Fashion Designers Were in the Know
Nature has had a handle on Ultra Violet since time began showing off this stunning color in flowers for the pleasure of bees and insects.
Not to be outdone, fashion designers such as Alessandro Michele, have embraced this color. Alessandro Micheles 2018 Spring Collection for Gucci certainly celebrates this shade with gusto.
As well the Loewe, Moschino and Balenciaga shows showcased this color in some amazing fashions.

Pantone’s Color of the Year is chosen by a group of employees who travel the world to research what colors are trending in everything from cars, to items and appliances for the home to clothes. They get together and combine their findings, and then a shade is chosen.
No matter how it happens, it is a remarkable color that every fashionista should have in her closet.
